In Pokémon Gamma Emerald, on your way to your new home your trip takes an unexpected turn when a sudden storm appears and your boat crashes on a mysterious, uncharted island situated between the Hoenn and Sinnoh region. With no way to call for help or outside contact, you are forced to explore- but you are not alone.
There are 25 natures but only 20 are good. Neutral natures like Docile and Hardy are bad and should never be used.
For Physical Attackers you want either Adamant (+Atk) or Jolly (+speed) as they boost their defining stats.
For Special Attackers it’s Modest (+SpA) or Timid (+Speed)
For defensive physical Pokémon you want either Impish (+Def) or Careful (+SPDef)
For defensive Special Pokemon it’s Bold (+Def) or Calm (+SPDef)
When in doubt of which to choose between attack and speed boost natures going for, speed is usually the better option as speed is everything lol.
For Slow Pokémon that you want to try Trick Room with always go with a nature that reduces speed. (Brave, Relaxed, Quiet and Sassy) Note! Brave only for physical Pokémon and Quiet only for Special Pokémon.
The last natures (Lonely, Rash, Hasty and Naive are for Pokémon that use both physical and special attacks. This is so you don’t lower either attack or speed stat whilst getting the boost benefit.
Side note I realise thanks to some help Lax and Quiet natures are pretty bad for mixed as they don’t boost either attack or speed and you don’t really have mixed defensive mons for obvious reasons (def lowering effects of these natures)
Pokémon Crystal - Zelda Edition
A tileset overhaul project based on the Pokémon Crystal disassembly. The aim is to give every area the look of a GBC Zelda game, namely styled after Link's Awakening, with cues taken from the Oracle games.
Last year I made Pokemon FireRed VX. Well, now it's time for Platinum! Ahem-
Pokemon Platinum VX is a hack that adds more playable Pokemon to the game with a gentler approach than your average hack. The difference is that nothing is added that really does not need to be added; no new moves, no type changes, nothing. Also unlike many enhancement hacks, Platinum VX integrates all these new Pokemon as smoothly as possible. As the name Vanilla Expanded suggests, this hack is about expanding the vanilla experience without fundamentally changing the feel of the game.
Platinum VX features:
- All 210 original Pokemon from Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum (with some given much-needed easier ways to catch them)
- 155 newly catchable Pokemon, added in the same locations you can catch them using postgame-only features like the Poke Radar or the swarm mechanic
- Updated teams on opponent trainers to use all the new Pokemon
- Alternate methods to get trade evolutions (this was not changed in FireRed VX, but trading is much less realistic on DS emulators)
- A complete database of everything you will want to know about the game, including a Pokemon list, encounter tables, boss teams, and other small but impactful changes
- Postgame update: Play through the postgame with encounters and gym leader rematches updated to match the rest of Platinum VX
- Great Marsh update: Even more Pokemon are integrated into the main game, bringing the total from 347 to 365
Platinum VX specifically does NOT feature:
- Pokemon new to Gen 4
- Moves new to Gen 4
- Items new to Gen 4
- Fairy types or other type changes
- Other excessive changes of any kind!
Pokemon FireRed VX is the result of seeing so many FireRed enhancement hacks which change so much that, at best you might as well not be playing Gen 3 anymore, and at worst you may as well not be playing FireRed anymore. You can still play old gens on Showdown because they have a unique value to them too. The point of this hack is to add significantly more content in replayability while maintaining the core of the base game and Gen 3 as a whole.
FireRed VX features:
- All 149 original Pokemon from both FireRed and LeafGreen
- 130 new Pokemon, about 2/3 added based on their locations in Gens 1, 2, and 4; and the remaining 1/3 added based on my own logic and personal preference
- Regular opponents and bosses which use new and old Pokemon alike
- All necessary items to evolve into new Pokemon (use VBAlink!)
- All TMs which were previously postgame-exclusive, giving viability to Pokemon that depend on them
- A complete database of all noteworthy changes, including a new Pokemon list, encounter rates per area, boss teams, and new items
FireRed VX specifically does NOT feature:
- Pokemon new to Gen 3
- Moves new to Gen 3
- Items new to Gen 3
- The modern physical-special split
- The Fairy type
- Other excessive changes of any kind!
Most Pokemon hacks have a very different feel to them than the original games they are based on, due to either drastic mechanical overhauls or flashy new content. This makes it difficult for players who prefer the original feel of the games to get more out of them. Pokemon HeartGold VX was made for this kind of player; its aim is to expand the vanilla experience by adding more playable Pokemon without fundamentally changing the feel of the game.
HeartGold VX features:
- All original Pokemon from both HeartGold and SoulSilver
- Increased availability for many Pokemon, most notably including all Gen 2 Pokemon
- 109 completely new Pokemon, added based on vanilla postgame features like Hoenn/Sinnoh Sound and the swarm mechanic
- Updated teams on opponent trainers to use all new and old Pokemon
- Easier access to all necessary evolutionary items and alternate methods to get trade and Sinnoh-only evolutions
- Adjustments to the levels of Pokemon throughout the game for a smoother experience
- A complete database of everything you will want to know about the game, including a Pokemon list, encounter tables, boss teams, and other minor changes
HeartGold VX specifically does NOT feature:
- Pokemon new to Gen 4
- Moves new to Gen 4
- Items new to Gen 4
- Fairy types or other type changes
- Other excessive changes of any kind!
This hack follows the standard Gen 1 storyline, aside from few twist and turns to enrich the lore of Gen 1 universe. Graphics have and will be almost all worked from the ground up, new revamped yellow mons sprites, revamped trainers sprites, new OW sprites, new tilesets and if I can figure out how I cud add some GSC song for the towns that currently share theirs with others.
Hack of Pokemon Red Version (using the Pokered disassembly).
Unova Red is a re-imagining of Generation 1, but using the Pokedex from Generation 5. This is because the Unova Pokedex was designed to stand alone without any Pokemon from additional regions, much like the original Pokedex. The plot is effectively identical to the Generation 1 games, the only major change is in the Pokemon available. There is also a challenge mode patch which provides a more difficult version of the same hack.
Hack of Pokemon Crystal Version (using the Pokecrystal disassembly).
Kalos Crystal is a sequel to my previous hack, Unova Red. This is a re-imagining of Generation 2, where the first generation of Pokemon were the Unova Pokedex, and the new second generation Pokemon are the Kalos Pokedex. This game features all Pokemon from generations 5 and 6, and like in Unova Red, all Pokemon in the Pokedex are obtainable within a single playthrough.
I was really inspired by the idea of LGPE and I wanted to make Johto include a later generation feature. so here it is. It contains an original, original, original plot from Pokémon Crystal, where you travel through Johto and Kanto with many remade post-game contents. The game is an FR-based GBA hack.
16 gyms, Kanto and mt.silver are finished!
I do have future plans with the game so if you have solid suggestions, I am happy to hear.
Features
- Double Battles for every trainer fight in the game.
- The whole Pokédex is encounterable and catchable before the League.
- Buffs to weak Pokémon and moves.
- A new Rival to battle you on your journey.
- Improved difficulty throughout.
Marriland’s Pokémon Team Builder is a tool that you can use to check the weaknesses and resistances of your entire team at a glance to spot any glaring holes in your team’s defensive coverage. It can be used both for casual or competitive purposes. It supports Pokémon Sword & Shield and Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, as well as older generations.
This is a ROM hack of Pokémon Emerald that aims to recreate Pokémon Crystal on the GBA, as if Game Freak had remade it themselves at that time.
Pokémon Fool's Gold is a Pokémon Crystal ROM hack where everything is familiar, yet different...
We've been working on this as a side project since about January 26, 2019. I know it's not super impressive compared to a lot of the amazing projects shared here, but as Pokémon fans who don't really have programming experience but grew up playing Pokémon ROM hacks we wanted to have fun and make one together, and we're really proud of the end result!
In this game, all of the Pokémon have been reworked... think Alolan/Galarian forms, for all the Pokémon. All 251 Pokémon are available in-game without trading. We've reworked all of the trainers and wild encounters to fit as well. In addition, there have been a few visual tweaks, and we've added a few new places to explore, too!
The story is all the same as vanilla Pokémon Crystal, so the experience is similar, but with the new Pokémon designs.
FEATURES
All 251 Pokémon redesigned, with new types and movesets to fit
All wild encounter data changed, to better fit the new designs to the environments
All Pokémon available without trading, including trade evolutions and starters
A variety of aesthetic changes to the overworld
A few new optional areas to explore
Shiny rate raised to 1/1028... we wanted everyone to at least run into one shiny throughout their playthrough
A few new moves, both from other Pokémon games and original moves
